Jazz Up your Pensacola Thursday Nights!

Kitt LoughJazz it Up in Pensacola! Let's see . . .  how to fill a Thursday night on the beautiful Emerald Coast. Sit home and watch television? No way. Not when we've got such talent walking our streets!

My good friend and well known "Jazz Chanteuse" Kitt Lough has a new gig every Thursday evening at 600 Palafox, New World Landing in downtown Pensacola. Kitt's wowing the Pensacola audiences with her sultry, swinging jazz standards with Dave Shelander at the piano and Jim Ales playing string bass.

Last night's audience was a mix of the downtown after-work crowd and Kitt, Dave and Jim's dedicated fan club. If you haven't been to 600 South you might jott it down on your calendar now. Kitt and the guys are there each Thursday starting at 7pm. The atmosphere is elegant and comfortable and the music is . . . well romantic and glamorous are descriptions that begin to scratch the surface! 

Kitt has her debut CD "Orange Colored View" on sale and it has received rave reviews and plenty of air time on jazz stations across the Southeast.600 South Palafox

Hey Robin:  My wife and I lived in Pensacola (in the Navy) from 1983-1987.  Had a home up in Pace and I taught school for the Navy at Corry Station...  There used to be a cook-it-yourself steak place down on Palafox that we frequented.  The look of the brick wall behind your singing friend really looks familiar.  I wonder if that place is now this jazz club.  Still have lots of friends in P'cola.  We should come for a visit sometime!  Thanks!  Steve

Steve - Yes, I have many Navy (and former Navy) friends and clients. As you know, so many people that came here for Navy assignments decided to stay . . . or come back to retire. Pensacola has that pull! I am sure that you would not recognize Pace now. That has been a very fast growing area. Highway 90 has now become a busy retail area and there are new neighborhoods all over.

Thanks for letting us know about Kit's gig.  I've heard her cd, and she is phenomenal!  And 600 South sounds like the perfect venue for her.

I met Kitt when I worked for Mike Wein. I never even knew she had such a great voice until after Mike turned me on to her album.  WOW!  She IS awesome.  My girlfriends and I are going there tonight to hear her.  Hope she's still there.
